hope I don't catch it....

I was reading the other day outside of blogland...(hey.. watch it..) but still reading on the internet, our local newspaper when I stumbled across this. Please do not let me hurt anybody or family member with this posting...
Mrs. Harriett "Hattie" Broadus, 102, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 15, 2009, after a brief illness. ( Seriously I really wouldn't want to catch that...it killed her for petes sake...not the fact she was 102)
Born in 1907 in Perkinston, Mississippi, Hattie first came to Gulfport in 1930 to work at the old Edgewater Resort Hotel where she established many lifelong friendships. Shortly after arrival she joined the Gulfport First Baptist Church and remained an active and dedicated member for the rest of her life. (we were members of the pool, at the old Edgewater, beautiful place it was. It was a hugh ordeal around here when they blew it up with dynamite. I still remember it, my mother has a scapebook about it. Most of the citizens were against the blowing of it up...to build a mall!)

I really am not making fun or lite of the fact that Mrs. Hattie died, in fact just the opposite. To dream that long...could you imagine :-) rest in peace hattie

When people live that long it truly amazes me.
A lady here in Texas just turned 110. WOW!

Good Lord. I would not want to live to be 102!! Although, I can't wait to get to the age when I can call someone a yong whippersnapper and be mean to people for no apparent reason.

Oh wait...I'm already there....

Tabitha-is that something...gives you a whole differnt view of growing older? Awesome is an understatement..would have love to have sat down with her and just listened to her life:-)

Michel...LOL...out there you probably will live that old..at least if not beat by ten.

102 Years . . . that's quite a legacy. Think of all the things she's seen in her life and the changes. I saw and felt the respect in your post - Respect Your Elders folks.
