Why Rudey does Drugs

Rudey is giving me the eye...telling me in her way something is up and she's not happy
she can feel it coming ..notice the tail is down and not wagging, so not Rudey
Now I understand why Rudey Dog takes Valiums!
Godzilla has been scaring the crap out of her bad!
changes in less than 5 minutes from blue to gray
just rolls in, stressing Rudey and there is nothing I can do
wicked and the winds where 60 mph
then ..this started to scare the crap out of me bad
It's really been bad around here for a while, I keep her on drugs daily, I have to hold her or lay down with her and she shakes horribly..it is so sad. I don't know what else to do for my baby!

We've had less than normal stormy year which is good, but we could use the rain.

Medora said...

Aw, I love that first picture. My mom's older dog has eyes like that - you would swear she was a person. So much in those eyes . . .

darsden said...

Tabitha-yes, I know you dislike them too. Sorry

Pastor Sharon-it is sad, I wish there was more I could do for her

Travis Erwin-hey welcome good to see ya here. I will be happy to send them your way.

One of Sandi's dogs doesn't like storm either, she trembles at the sound of thunder. Me, I love storms!

Brian Miller said...

I found that if I take a lightweight blankie over Chloe's head the dark seems to settle her down more quickly even when I haven't had time to dose her before a storm blows up. Whether I lie down with her or she gets up next to me on the chair or she's on the footrest of Carol's chair, we always keep a light blanket handy in case of storms.

Gaston Studio-it breaks my heart for her..nothing I do works!

Brain Miller-it has been crazy weather here usually they aren't this bad, today's storms put yesterdays to shame..they were really bad!

Reddirt Woman-Helen I have tried that with me holding her laying down with her.. she just wants to run and no place to go...I am about at my witts end here!

I feel bad for your pup! They are some nasty looking skies, you have to be careful in the south! Tornadoes can pop up at any time.

Poor Rudey!! My childhood dog used to hide under the coach when it stormed or howled at the bad weather. Maybe some yummy meat cut up would cheer her up? Then, when it storms, she will think yummy treat instead of thunder.

darsden said...

Hit 40-That is the reason she looks like a football with legs now..too many over compensating treats LOL

Becky said...

Poor Rudey Dog!
Where would she be without you?
I am sure she appreciates the comfort she receives from you.
Wish I had a tip or idea for you. But it seems you have and are doing everything you can for her.

Pseudo said...

I can see creatures in those clouds. Ominous. Poor little rudy.

LadyStyx said...

Sounds like our Chi. The running joke is that she has to fight me for a spot under the bed during weather like that.

Intense Guy said...

My folks have this huge mean looking German Shepard and she runs and hides at the first boom of thunder. She's a marshmellow all the way through.

Rudey is a cutie pie!

Hit 40 said...

I am starting to look like a football with legs too!! I have to admit... I kinda like it. Yummy Yummy food!!

darsden said...

Becky-she is having a time my friend! I appreciate you.

PSHT-yes I think she can too..esp Godzilla up there. Thank you

LadyStyx-welcome good to see you. It is sad we can't do anything about it. I am NOT keeping her on drugs if they aren't going to help.

Intense Guy-welcome good to see you here too.
Sounds like Rudey except she would be the shepards toy ;-)

Hit 40- LOL food is good..esp chocolate :-))

Cynthia said...

That is some wicked looking sky. I see why pup was scared.

Peggy said...

Great pictures darsden;

I can see why Rodey is scared, I would be too. My big 95 pound lab used to wrap herself around the toilet. See how smart they are. the plumbing is usually the last to be blown away!

The skies are wicked looking....you can see his fear in his eyes. They look to you to help them! You're good! He's (?) lucky to have you looking out for him!

darsden said...

Peggy-Rudey does that too and when she goes behind the toilet I go and sit right beside her I figure she might feel and know something I don't! I still hate it for her I am taking her back to the vet have an appointment next week. I don't want to keep drugging her if it's not working for her I want another solution!

darsden said...

Nap Warden-oops skipped over you so sorry. Yes, mama wasn't too happy either I just knew a tornado was going to pop out.
