Enjoy some Island tunes will you fly over the island

Welcome to Turks & Caico's Islands to be exact Providenciales Island the smallest island in the Turks and Caico chain of islands. The last islands in the Bahamas. It is approximately 10 miles long and from three to five miles wide. I knew it like the back of my hand. Talk about a trip of a life time that was dumped into my lap and I was all to happy to accept it. My sister is a surgical nurse and she, her boss and friends designed this diving trip to Turks. At the last moment one of the doctors cancelled. Dr. D. my sister's boss, said dude it's too late NO Refund! He still couldn't go. So, I happened to be in between jobs and my sister called me and said, give me your credit card number...whaaaat! Give me your credit card number I am booking you a flight for a vacation...oooookkkkkkk I guess. Well looky looky what the cost of an airplane ticket for 335.00 round trip bought...all that was left to buy was food and all the fun and souvieniers I could tote back in my suitcase. We had 9 nights on the island, 2 jeeps to use also... I made out like a bandit. The whole trip only cost me less than 800 bucks including airfare..Yea, Babe' enjoy

This whole house was ours there were...8 of us...each had our own bedroom, bathroom and balcony.

This is the view of me sitting on the banks after snorkeling by myself because they were all diving.. NO, problem except for that ten foot shark that came up under me and scared the crap out of me. I flew out of the water to view this lovely sailboat... contemplating if I was going to go back in the water. I decide if the shark wanted the redheaded seal bobbing in the water he would have already got me. So, I went back in with the attitude of If I am going to die, least it will be in paradise :-) My sister would have never known what happened to me it he had eaten me...she's thought I had run off with Mr. Arthur Dean...
because I had stated I was going to do that.

Sunday's on the island is a big deal all the local islanders walk to church.

I stapped this of the 3 sisters going to church in their matching dresses all proud.

Dr. D owned a restaurant over there so he had been there several times before. This is back in 1996 before Hollywood found the island. You can't get on there anymore. But back then we reggae danced with Ollie and Noreese who own the conch shack on the beach. We were the first visitor's to their house EVER! Noreese took us in and showed us her house the one room so full of pride with what she had. (WE really are all so blessed compared to how others live) She had a one eye burner, (not stove) running water, limited electricity no a/c. No a/c used at our house either YOU can't afford it. But you do adjust. She had a futon but beamed with pride.

Noreese and Ollie taught us how to play domino's we never came close to beating them - they just laughed.

One of the couple with us few down in their parents plane with them. While they were diving, me and dad when to flying around the island. So the next set of pictures are of us flying above the island.

You can see how narrow it gets in parts.
I drove all over this island while the rest were out.
The hardest part was remembering to drive on the wrong side of the road.

This concludes your trip with me to the Turks and Caico's Island, hope you enjoyed it. I know I did. I didn't want to come home. In fact I found 2 jobs over there and wasn't coming back. But, my sister put her foot down and said I was coming back if she had to stuff me in a duffel bag. Because she wasn't going to tell mama her favorite baby girl wouldn't come home from the island. I am still mad to the day I didn't stay!

My Summer Vacation part 2

It was an absolutely beautiful drive up there and back. I took these pictures on the ride home. I am use to traveling by the coastlines and always by water. So, it was nice to ride through the mountains again for a little while. Mind you these were shot doing 70 to 75 in an RV...LOL I did find some beautiful river shots though...ya know I am heading South :-) This first picture is cool cause the clouds were way down covering the mountains up you can't even see them all.

My Summer Vacation part 1

Home Away from home for the week with my lil family. Very enjoyable time and may I point out it flew by like it was a McBreakfast Club meeting. I didn't get enough babies time. I loved waking up to West sneaking in my room for his mornings with dardar..our lil time together, just before everybody else wakes up. He is growing up so fast. They all are, it had only been five months since they made the major move, but boy could I see the changing in my lil man growing up. York State River Park

Mr. Baxter, how Rudey wouldn't get along with this cutie he was a sweetie too, he loves those kids. Always playing with them he is 8 months old and full of puppy. So, guessing Rudey dog being closer to 12 years than months...makes her a little bit of a maxine...lol

Another Mini Vacation

Heading out for another mini vacation to Jackson, Ms on Saturday going to visit my brother and his family. Jeff, his son leaves on Monday heading out to meet up with his band members and heading down to Miami to record their first cd. They are a heavy metal group...Mutiny Within and they have a record deal with Roadrunner Records. It is very exciting...he will be the lead guitarist...be watching for them. Not my kind of music but none the less I am extremely proud of him. ( on myspace.com/mutinywithin to hear their music)

Another reason for heading up is to pick up my real laptop that had crashed. Brother man had a connection and it save me a couple of hundred bucks in repair. So, I will be happy to have my real baby back.. my lil back up dell here has just been wonderful for getting on the internet...but it is meeting it's challenge to continue to do so every hour I use it... I will be turning this one over too for some cleaning...It was wonderful to have a back up laptop...I have found I can go without the home phone, eating, shopping...and even my cell phone...But, please don't take my internet... LOL my times have changed. You would think I was this extremely important and very work busy...NO, just found that when I want to know something... I want to no NOW...not later... the internet gives me all the options I want. It's really hard to contact people...when all you stuff is on the computer that is 180 miles away!

I am excited to go, I haven't ever gone up there to stay for a few nights, I have always visited and turned around and came back home...so it will be fun to stay a while... Of course I am taking my Wii, just to insure that we have a blast.

Oh, I will be going out with my nephew and his girlfriend...who is full blooded german...so maybe I will have some good stuff when I come back...if I come back...I hear she has quite the temper and redheaded like me...LOL should be fun!!

Mini Destin Vacation

Good Morning...Yeah, heading out to Destin, Florida today to go play with the kids.Destin is just a lil over 3 hours away. Rudey (my dog) and I are in the process of packing. West, has a halloween parade he wants me to attend. Should be very cute, put on by the 4 and 5 year olds. Then there is halloween on Friday and the kids want me to go with them...I will for a little while then I see me and babygirl Ella (just turned 1) heading back to the house to pass out ....Candy that is... The weather should be just perfect for trick or treating...lil nip in the air is just right.
Planning on catching up with my girlfriends for a birthday celebration on Thursday night. One of the lil nurses needs a pick me up....so 3 of us are going to do just that. Okay, a bit boring...yes, but maybe I will come back with some better juice...
Have a safe halloween everybody...this lil girl needs to go get some candy...tootles
